Herbalist Meaning and Certification
What is an Herbalist?
Know for your own knowledge that as an herbalist it is illegal to treat, cure or prescribe to another. Rather this be friend, family, male, female, child, adult, etc.
However, due to “Freedom of Speech” as an herbalist you can educate clients how to use herbs for helpful and healthy lifestyle practices. Giving support to body health and help correct any imbalance the body may be experiencing.
For Example…
As an herbalist you can not legally diagnose a client with diabetes and than prescribe insulin or herbs. However, as an herbalist you can meet with a client who has already been diagnosed with diabetes and educate them about the various herbs that may help balance their blood sugar in conjunction with their doctor recommended treatment plan.
Certification Process
800 hours of online courses (can vary I have chosen to do my classes online) as well as forage, and study separately from course.
400 hours of clinical experience (including 300 hours of direct client contract)
Complete a written exam
Provide case studies and letters of recommendations from herbal teachers or colleagues
Once everything above has been completed can then apply for “RH(AHG)” Certification
